I'm pleased to announce the first MARS Doubleheader, 2 events in 1! We will begin with a 3 round Delta event followed by a 3 round Cheese event. These will run as one in terms of round pairings and record. At the end of 6 rounds, the top 2 players will advance to the Championship Draft Finals game. This is a longer day than usual so if you’re unable to attend the full days’ worth of events, no worries! I can mark you active/inactive on the fly depending on when you arrive/depart. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions, need to borrow figures, etc. 11:30am - 2:00pm: Delta Light Weight - 50 minute rounds, 385 Delta Points, 20 figures, 24 hexes. Renegade, Classic, and VC are legal. No Marvel. 2:00pm - 2:15pm: break between tournaments 2:15pm - 4:45pm: Fat Free Cheese - 50 minute rounds, 400 Classic Points, 24 figures, 24 hexes. Renegade, Classic, and VC are legal. No Marvel. 4:45pm - 5:00pm: Prizing and prep for Finals 5:00pm - 6:00pm: Championship Draft Finals - 60 minutes (including 5 minutes for drafting), 480 Classic Points, 12 figures. Top 2 will be determined by overall record > head-to-head record > SoS. #1 seed may choose to draft first or second. Draft from the provided pool in a 1-2-2-2-2 pattern (first player drafts 1 army card, second player drafts 2 army cards, first player drafts 2 army cards, etc.). Armies are not placed until all units have been drafted. Once you are out of points, you may not draft any more cards. Each player has 5 minutes with which to draft their armies. We will use chess clocks. If your time expires, you may not draft any more units. To help avoid mistakes during the draft, pen and paper will be provided. Both players are responsible for keeping track of both players’ picks during the draft. Draft Pool: Tarn Viking Warriors, Izumi Samurai, Knaves of the Silver Scimitar, The Eisen Expedition, Exiles of the Sundered Sea, Necrotech Wraithriders, Krav Maga Agents, Nakita Agents, Goillanators x2, Deflectacron x2, Otonashi, Blink Dawson, Kita the Springrunner, Vrono the Brambletooth, Wing Commander Tuck Harrigan, Decker the Burrowbreaker, Fia Bonny the Void Siren, Gurishia, Feral Troll, Syvarris 1.0, Sgt Drake Alexander 1.0, Rhogar Dragonspine, and Agent Skahen. Army Submission: because we are running two events with different requirements on one page, you will need to double check that each of your armies meet the correct (Delta or Classic) point totals and figure limits manually when submitting. Use the ‘Army Name’ feature to identify the format you are submitting for. The first submission will be your Delta Light Weight army and the second will be your Fat Free Cheese army. Ensure you have double checked and submitted your armies before arriving at the tournament. Side Trophies: In addition to our usual 1st place trophy there will be Classic, Contemporary, and VC Side Trophies awarded based on army composition in those categories. Games won with an army containing at least 180 points of Contemporary figures may count toward the Contemporary category. The same applies to the VC and Contemporary categories respectively. When submitting your army for each event, please include (Classic), (Contemporary), or (VC) at the beginning of your army’s name to indicate which trophy category you are competing for. You may compete in a different category in each event. Standings are based on your combined wins within a category across BOTH events (the finals game does not count toward these standings). The player with the most qualifying wins in each category will win that category’s trophy. In the event of a tie, the winner will be decided by best win percentage while representing that category > overall tournament record > head-to-head record > SoS.
