Please arrive 15 minutes early to ensure a timely start.
Format: FOURmat
480 point limit, 17 figure limit, no hex limit. No Marvel, VC or prereleased Renegade allowed.
This event will have 4 different formats, one for each round of Swiss. Please see a description of each format below. Players MUST HAVE at least 3 Unique/Uncommon heroes in their armies. If you are over on figures, you may not drop below 3 Unique/Uncommon Heroes when placing. Before each round, the format will be randomly determined (no repeats). If you're a new player, don't be intimidated! The formats are intuitive and the rules will be repeated before each round. 50 minute rounds + 5 minutes for setup. If games go to time, partial card scoring will be used. This event will follow ScapeCon rulings for all other matters.
Format: Kill 'Em All
A standard tournament format. Destroy all of your opponent's figures to win.
Format: Assassin's Creed
Before the game, players will secretly select one of their opponent's heroes as their target by writing on a piece of paper. The first player to destroy their opponent's assassination target wins.
Format: Scouting Party
Before the game, players dice-off. The winning player may choose to begin forward placement first (Player A) or second (Player B). Player B then chooses which side they prefer. During forward placement, beginning with Player A, players take turns placing one one card of units on the board.
Figures placed during this phase cannot be placed within 4 spaces of your opponent's start zone.
Squad figures must be placed within three clear sight spaces of all other squad figures placed that turn.
You may not place figures on glyphs or adjacent to enemy figures.
Players may continue taking turns placing figures this way as long as the total figures placed this way does not exceed 8 figures or 220 points (partial card scoring). Players may also pass to decline placement, but may not choose to resume forward placement after that. You may forward place some of the figures from a card and reserve the rest for placement in the regular start zone placement phase, but if you do so you must pass on subsequent forward placement turns. After both players are done placing figures this way, the players place their remaining figures in their start zones, starting with player B. If an army has more than 18 figures, decisions on which figures to sit are made at this time.
Format: Control Points
Each map will have two control points (towards the center of the map). At the end of the round (after resolving all other end of round procedures like lava and Wannok), if you have more army cards within two spaces of a control point than your opponent, then you score Victory Points equal to the round number. Repeat this process for the other control point. Be the first player to reach 9 Victory Points. If both players end a round tied, then play another round (and continue until the tie is broken). Alternatively, you may still win by destroying all of your opponent's figures.
