Monthly Wilmington tournament

We will be playing at a member’s house due to space availability at CFG. Please reach out on the SAS discord cfg channel to get the address. This months format is jealous lovers. You must have exactly 1 unit card in your army with the bonding special ability. However, you may not have more than 1 potential bonder with that unit, lest their bonder become jealous. At least 300 points in your army must be from your bonded cards. Examples: You cannot have Frostclaw Paladins, Adelbern, and Irene in your army because that would give the frostclaws two bonding options, and Irene and Adelbern are jealous lovers. You cannot have Iron Lich Viscerot fulfill the bonding roll in your army. This is because his ability does not include the word bond. He is a puppeteer, not a lover. Max 3x copies of any common card.

Monthly Wilmington Tournament - Pi Day

Happy Pi(rate) Day! To honor this mathematicallly swashbuckling day, every army must have at least 1 army card that is a pirate. Organizer (Ozymandias) will provide a Pie for everyone to share, but feel free to bring your own! Before matches start, the player who has memorized the most digits of Pi will receive a special buff for the rest of the tournament.

Monthly Wilmington Tournament - Store Championship

Be the first player to reach 9 Victory Points. If both players end a round tied, then play another round (and continue until the tie is broken). If a game goes to time, partial card scoring will determine the winner. Each map will have two control points (towards the center of the map). At the end of the round (after resolving all other end of round procedures like lava and Wannok), if you have more army cards within two spaces of a control point than your opponent, then you score Victory Points equal to the round number. Repeat this process for the other control point.  Example:  At the end of Round 3, Player A has 5 Gelryie Vanguard, Queen Maladrix, and 2 Festering Honor Guard within 2 spaces of a control point. Player B has Ewashia, Halushia, and Shiori within 2 spaces of that same control point. Player A has 4 army cards within range (2 cards of Gelryie, Maladrix, and 1 card of FHG), whereas Player B has 3 army cards within range (Ewashia, Halushia, and Shiori). Player A would score 3 Victory Points for that control point. Repeat this process for the other control point.

Monthly Wilmington Tournament - June 2026

475 pts, 20 figure limit. Delta point system. Your army must follow exactly 2 Generals. Each General must have at least 180 pts spent on it. Units with “unaffiliated” are wild cards. You may choose to to add them without counting as a general.

Monthly Wilmington Tournament - August 2026

Contemporary units only. Players roll the D20; high roll may choose to pick first or defer. P1 chooses one of the two armies to play. P2 then chooses to either let P1 play that army OR removes at least one figure from that army and says they want to play with it. The players go back and forth, removing additional figure(s) from the chosen army each time, until one player passes and lets the other player use it. The player who passes plays the army that was not initially chosen (and plays it at full strength). The figure limit only applies before the armies are drafted. Choose which figures to drop once you and your opponent are paired and before the draft. Bring a real army. If it is not (for example, an army consisting of Queen Qhyrion, Air Marshal Zed Nesbitt and Crimson Widow), you will be given a loss. It does not need to be an A army, but it must be somewhat functional. Splash armies and the like are allowed.

Carolina Cup

This is a team tournament run by the people of Carolina for the people of Carolina. We will have 4 teams compete in a multi-round team tournament. At the end of August, pre-selected team captains will draft members to their team, and provide coaching and support leading up to the event. At the event itself, captains will influence the matchups to favor their team and army compositions. The runner up team will get a custom set of dice, and the winning team will get custom dice as well as have their team engraved onto the inaugural NC Cup Trophy, which will be kept at the venue and will be fought over again at next year’s Carolina Cup. Captains are pre-selected, and everyone who signs up will be drafted to a team. The only requirement to attend is to be a regular participant at one of the local SAS scenes.
