(HexiCon III) GenCon Worlds 2025 Qualifier: Tournament of Champions @ 11 AM ET

This is a GenCon Worlds 2025 Qualifying Event! The winner will receive a bye to Day 2 of Worlds! This means this event may have a top cut, more information to come later. Contemporary Only. 500 pts. 18 figure limit. 24 hex limit. Each tournament round of the event is a new format. The order is randomly determined during the event. Formats are not repeated until all 4 have been played equal number of times. 1. Standard: No special rules. 2. Heat of Battle: Before the game, both players roll the D20; high roll may choose to place first or second. Players alternate placing one card of their units anywhere on the map. Squad figures must be placed next to at least one other squad figure you placed that turn. You may not place figures on glyphs or adjacent to enemy figures. The player who places second automatically wins initiative Round 1. 3. Reverse The Whip: Before the start of the game, swap your army with your opponent's army. You will play their army for that game. Return armies after the game. 4. Capture the Flag: Before placing figures, players choose a space in their opponent's start zone to be a "Flag." Mark this location with a Glyph of Brandar, wound marker, dice, or any other identifier agreed by both players. If at any point during the game, a player ends one of their figure's turns on the opponent's Flag's space and is unengaged, they automatically win the game.
